I am Mason's aunt, Megan. His uncle Mathew is Sam's (Mason's mommy's) brother. I am creating this memorial in loving memory of Mason Brooks, an unfortunate victim of SIDS. Mason James Brooks was born a twin to Samantha Brock (now Brooks) and Justin Brooks on May 7th of 2008. He was born at 11:22 AM to c-section weighing 4 lbs 5 oz and 16 inches long. His twin, Madissyn Kay Brooks was born at 11:23 AM, weighing 4 lbs 6 oz, and was also 16 inches long. Their arrival into this world was a quick, unexpected, roller coaster of a ride, about 6 weeks early. They were both awesome little fighters and did so well, there was no need to be transferred to a bigger hospital with a NICU. They were doing just fine at the hospital they were in. When they finally went home, they left with monitors, but neither really had too many problems. They needed special formula and a little bit of medicine, but nothing major. They were doing awesome! Madissyn started having frequent apnea spells and was sent to OSF St. Francis in Peoria. She was in and out of there for a while. During that time Mason got to grace many with his presence. He kept friends company, aunts awake all night, uncles laughing, and just kept everyone happy! Mason is/was a VERY loved little guy. It was fun thinking of Mason, Maddissyn, and their cousin Kori Mae running the school together, as she was their age. We called them the dynamic trio, who all would fear. Mason has 2 other siblings. Kayden is the oldest kid in the family. She was little Miss Mommy when the twins came home. Zachary was just a year old when the twins were born. Justin, JB, was so proud when his twins were born. You could see it in his face how excited he was. Both Sam and JB were very protective of their all their children, not to mention their premature twins. They were both in and out of the doctors, and ER, sometimes for silly stuff, like the time Mason had a blue spot on his head, and it turned out to be ink from the butt wipes box. Mason was a laid back baby, however, he knew what he wanted, and when he wanted it. The night he grew wings is the night a part of all of us died. Mason, we love and miss you so much. "Oh what a wonderful day it will be, when our angel we shall see"
